Once you taste our unique cuisine, you'll eat this all over again! It was tasty and savory with the speciality of its peanut sauce. It's named Gado-gado.
Gado-gado? Why it's named Gado-gado?
Ok, let's start it. In Javanese, 'Gado' means 'eating without rice'. That's why if you'd like to eat Gado-gado, it's being eaten by rice cake (lontong), not rice.
So, Gado-gado is a traditional cuisine which is being a best-seller in Java, especially in Surabaya. We could call Gado-gado as a Java Salad as well, because it contains any variants of vegetables. They're such as lettuce, bean sprouts, tomato, cucumber, tofu, rice cake, potato and boiled eggs. It mixes in one and pours with peanut sauce.
What do we need to make a peanut sauce of Gado-gado? It's easy and use very simple ingridients. Here are the ingridients:
- Peanut
- Coconut Milk
- Chillies
- Shallot
- Garlic
- Sugar
- Salt
You could make the dried sauce instead in a portion. The dried sauce will be last about 2-3 years if you stored in refrigerator. It could be last for long time because it contains many spices.
